The Veil

Heaven is merely an illusory veil
Created for those minds that fail
To accept the cruelty that is life
And thus for salvation desperately flail

Awakening

Lungs fill up with swirling smoke
Heart beats dimmer with each stroke
Life drains out of me and yet
Each puff finds me more awoke

Grind

What zenith can he reach, he of lowly mind?
He who can think of naught but his daily grind
A cycle he rides to work, a cycle his life become
A more cruel rider than God he will not find

Where are you?

Did You watch me live my life
Battling chance, Fate's deceitful wife
I scoured high and low for You
You I didn't find, only strife

Farewell

Wretched weeping for wedding woes
Saline solution signals ceremony's close
A mother stands silent stuck in grief's throes
Her eyes extinguished even as her daughter goes

Solitude

A past love before me makes her way
Reluctant, my mind nevertheless does stray
Will I find one who makes a poet muse
Or will I be lonely forever as i am today

Mother

When a mother favours his son with a glance
He knows it well, there stands no chance
Though all the Evils assemble as one
To turn his life's path askance
